Hello, this is Director Lee Jong-joo.

Today's director notes will cover a variety of topics rather than focusing on one major issue.
    Let’s get right into it.

    1) Hall of Heroes Costume
About a month ago, I mentioned through the Director’s Note that we would prepare and provide exclusive costumes for those who achieved a certain rank in the Hall of Heroes.
However, we will distribute the “Baraka Arena Strongest Fighter Season 1 Champion Costume” to all users who participated in the Hall of Heroes at least once during the next maintenance.
For the next season, we also plan to distribute exclusive Hall of Heroes costumes at the end of the season, but the acquisition conditions will be different from rank-based rewards.

    2) Regarding Borgeid
As mentioned in a previous Director’s Note, there was an issue where equipping the Borgeid’s origin weapon, “Hellfire” would reduce the range of certain damage-dealing skills. This issue was fixed in yesterday’s patch.

We apologize again for the delay in identifying and fixing this bug.

Considering that the experience and performance weren’t as intended before the fix, we believe some form of compensation is necessary.

Since the issue only occurred when the origin weapon was equipped, the compensation criteria will be based on those who own both the Borgeid hero and the origin weapon "Hellfire". The relevant period is from the release of Borgeid until the fix on October 17th, 2024, at (00:00 UTC+0).

    The compensation is as follows:
    - 1 Advanced Book of Harmonization
    - 20 Origin Weapon Summon Tickets

Rewards will be distributed via in-game mail within today, limited to the eligible players.

(Users who have dismantled the Origin Weapon are also included as eligible recipients)

We apologize for not considering fairness thoroughly for all Borgeid owners.

We deeply regret that our incorrect judgment regarding the compensation plan has caused concern for our players.

We will recalculate and distribute differentiated compensation based on the growth stage of Borgeid.

The previously calculated compensation will be distributed today, and the recalculated compensation, following internal discussions, will be distributed as an additional reward.

We will continue to make efforts to minimize the impact of such bugs in the future.

    3) Damage Over Time (DoT) Rules for Poison, Burn, and Bleed
Currently, the rules for damage over time (DoT) effects in the game are as follows:

If the same type of DoT is applied, it doesn’t stack but instead overwrites with the most recently applied DoT.

Example: If Borged’s main skill "Flame of Disaster" (which applies burn when equipped with the origin weapon) is active, and then Roule’s main skill "Flame" hits the target, Borgeid’s burn effect will be replaced by Roule’s burn effect.

The heroes that apply DoT effects in the game include Shirla, Borgeid, Madram, Muse, Martie, Nobeh, and Roule.

The current DoT rules require players to carefully consider their hero lineup. For example, Shirla is the only hero that applies poison, but her main skill, passive skill, and origin weapon effect all inflict poison, leading to suboptimal results in combat.

We have determined that these existing DoT rules are more disadvantageous in the long run and plan to revise them to minimize unfair interactions regardless of the heroes used.

The direction of improvement will focus on increasing practicality without reducing the performance of existing heroes.

I will bring more detailed plans regarding this in next week’s Director’s Note.

    4) Information on the Infinite Abyss
With yesterday’s patch, the 101st to 150th floors of the Destiny, Eternal, and Sea Abyss were expanded. For users attempting Extrem difficulty, these floors are designed to be relatively easy to clear.
Floors 101–120 are balanced for a 5-hero team, while floors 121 and beyond are balanced for a 6-hero team, so please take this into account to help with clearing them.

Additionally, the Gagharv Abyss will be expanded to 200 floors in November, so please look forward to it.

    5) Regarding Extrem Difficulty for A Cagesong of the Ocean
The Extrem Difficulty version of A Tear of Vermillion has been added. Extrem Difficulty is classified as advanced difficulty and is designed to be less steep compared to the gap between the stages in Normal difficulty of A Tear of Vermillion and A Cagesong of the Ocean.

The entry requirement for Extrem Difficulty in A Cagesong of the Ocean is the same as for A Tear of Vermillion —clearing A Cagesong of the Ocean Hard 16-10.

Additionally, A Prophecy Of The Moonlight Witch episode, which is scheduled for the December-January update, will follow the same balance structure as A Tear of Vermillion and A Cagesong of the Ocean, with both Normal and Advanced difficulty modes, rather than scaling with the current level of user growth.

Please be mindful of this as well.

Next week’s major updates will include a balance patch for Palman and the addition of Extrem Difficulty for A Cagesong of the Ocean. As with previous updates, we plan to release details of the Palman update via a Director’s Note next week.

Finally, the long-awaited Chapter 4 scenario for A Cagesong of the Ocean will be added in the October 31st update.

    Thank you.
