Hello, this is Director Lee Jong-joo.
Today, I’ll be discussing the Resonance Stones and Ensemble System in detail.
Before diving in, I want to express my amazement at the incredible deductive reasoning you demonstrated in interpreting the hints I provided earlier.
Now, let’s reveal the answers:
1000 / 10 = 100
Reward Hint: Garnet
Explanation: 1000 (Garnets) / 10 (days) = 100 (100 days)
Reward: Through a free pass, you can obtain 1000 Red Garnets daily for 10 days (a total of 10,000 Red Garnets).
10 x 10 = 100
Reward Hint: Summon Tickets
Explanation: 10 (Hero Summon Tickets) x 10 (days) = 100 (100 days)
Reward: Through login rewards, you can receive 10 Hero Summon Tickets daily for 10 days (a total of 100 Hero Summon Tickets).
Additionally, there is a hidden reward included in the 10 x 10 = 100 hint that wasn't explicitly mentioned.
Starting with next week's patch, Origin Weapon Summon Tickets will be added to the login rewards.
You will be able to obtain 10 Origin Weapon Summon Tickets daily for 10 days.
I hope this reward exceeds your expectations, even if only a little!
Now, let’s dive into the details about Resonance Stones.
To be honest, Resonance Stones were not part of the original plans during the development of the project.
Before the game’s release, through interviews, YouTube broadcasts, and other media channels, we received numerous questions such as:
“Will Resonance Stones be implemented?” and “Can Resonance Stones be used?”
Seeing the high expectations for Resonance Stones and the Ensemble system among fans of the original work inspired us to find a way to incorporate them into the game. This was the starting point for their inclusion.
Initially, Resonance Stones weren’t planned because the game focuses on heroes from The Legend of Heroes Chapters 3, 4, and 5.
Resonance Stones are specifically tied to Chapter 5, and Resonance Magic carries such symbolic significance and immense value that assigning it exclusively to Chapter 5 heroes was judged to create challenges, both in terms of lore and numerical balance.
However, observing players’ high expectations and sustained interest, we began considering how to flexibly adapt the concept to fit within the game.
The key was to strike a balance between the core systems already present in the game and the original story’s setting.
This development journey was something I wanted to share with you during this opportunity.
Resonance Stones
1. Background and Lore
Resonance Stones are items based on the Resonance Magic practiced by the ancient, now-vanished, Blue Tribe through their musical performances.
The Blue Tribe originally utilized 24 fundamental phrases in their magic. These phrases were lost over time, but Leone Frederick Richter managed to recreate them as a mystical melody, which he called the Water Melody.
Fearing the potential misuse of Resonance Magic, Leone inscribed these phrases onto stones and named them Resonance Stones.
In Chapter 5 of the current storyline, it’s revealed that the Numeros Empire attempted to exploit the power of Resonance Magic using Aria, which ultimately led to their downfall. Aria inherited all forms of Resonance Magic but has sealed the offensive aspects of it herself.
I may have strayed into the realm of lore here, so let’s return to the explanation.
Resonance Stones were created by Leone Friedrich Richter as a medium to safely utilize Resonance Magic. In the game, they play a critical role in enhancing the team’s overall performance or delivering strategic effects.
Even if someone isn’t well-versed in using Resonance Magic like the Blue Tribe, they can wield it more stably through the Resonance Stones.
However, Resonance Magic inherently generates Resonance Waves depending on the user. If these waves accumulate into clusters, they could potentially lead to catastrophic disasters such as the Dark Sun.
While the occurrence of Resonance Waves should be negligible under normal use by players, systemically, issues could arise if a large number of users deploy the magic simultaneously.
To minimize this risk and make unstable Resonance Magic safer to use, players must carefully tune the Resonance Stones.
Players can collect various Energies that suppress Resonance Waves to tune their Resonance Stones and unlock their full potential. These required Energies can be obtained through existing in-game content.
Resonance Stones are acquired by completing a quest in the main storyline of Legend of Heroes 5. Afterward, players can progress through guide quests to further develop their Resonance Stones.
We hope the Resonance Stone system will bring exciting new strategies and transformations to your heroes’ combat tactics.
2. Structure and Usage
Total Resonance Stones: 24
6 Resonance Stones: ([Water], [Earth], [Light], [Wind], [Fire], [Darkness]) trigger attack magic and Ensemble effects.
18 Resonance Stones: Categorized into three groups with unique properties: Utility, Attack, and Defense.
Utility: [Purification], [Lullaby], [Marching], [Confusion], [Time], [Hermit]
Attack: [Minde's Eye], [Technique], [Binding], [Targeting], [Force], [Spirits]
Defense: [Recovery], [Perseverance], [Mirror], [Quagmire], [Love], [Birth]
3. Tuning Resonance Stones
Tuning System:
Each Resonance Stone can be individually tuned, and every time its tuning level increases, 1 point is earned.
Reaching specific point thresholds activates special group-wide skills, and these skills are further enhanced when higher point milestones are achieved.
For example, reaching 15 points upgrades the skill from Level 1 to Level 2, while reaching 30 points advances it from Level 2 to Level 3.
NOTE: The numbers shown above are subject to change.
Tuning Materials and Acquisition Sources
Tuning Requirements: Tuning requires gold and special materials, which vary by group.
Utility: Energy of Peace - Guild Raid achievement rewards.
Attack: Energy of Courage - Gagharv Threat achievement rewards.
Defense: Energy of Happiness - Weekly Tally rewards from the Hall of Heroes.
Tuning Effects
Resonance Stones enhance various team-wide stats, such as attack power, defense, and critical hit rate.
Ensemble System
1. Basics of Ensemble
Certain Resonance Stones—[Water], [Earth], [Light], [Wind], [Fire], and [Darkness]—can trigger Ensemble effects.
Combination: Two attributes can be combined to produce special effects.
Restrictions: Opposing attributes like Light + Darkness cannot be combined.
Ensemble Count: A total of 12 possible combinations.
Examples of Allowed Combinations: Water + Light, Wind + Fire.
Examples of Forbidden Combinations: Water + Fire, Light + Darkness.
NOTE: The numbers shown above are subject to change.
2. Using Ensembles
Ensembles can be equipped like tools in the team composition menu, allowing players to set the best options for specific content.
They are activated during battle with the help of Forte, Una, or McVein and can only be used once per battle after a short delay.
※ Ensembles can still be used even if Forte, Una, or McVein are not in the team.
NOTE: The numbers shown above are subject to change.
NOTE: The numbers shown above are subject to change.
3. Types of Ensemble Effects
Damage-related Effects: Damage scales proportionally with the team's combat power.
Effect-based Skills: Each Ensemble type has unique skill effects.
In scoring content, skill effects may be more advantageous for achieving high scores than damage-related skills.
4. Ensemble Stages
Ensemble stages increase as the total tuning points from 18 Resonance Stones are summed. Achieving specific point thresholds enhances the Ensemble effects.
No additional resources are required to upgrade Ensemble skills.
5. Ensemble Attributes
The concept of attributes associated with Ensembles from the original work has not been adopted due to concerns about complexity.
Summary of Resonance Stone and Ensemble Systems
The Resonance Stone system and the Ensemble system are closely interconnected, offering both enhanced team performance and strategic gameplay.
For beginners, these systems provide simple stat boosts and powerful damage effects, while advanced players can enjoy the deeper fun of strategic combinations.
We hope you utilize Resonance Stones and Ensembles to diversify your battle strategies and develop your own unique playstyle across various content.
Today's explanation included a lot of information and newly introduced terms, which might have made it a bit overwhelming, even for me as I explained it.
Once the update goes live tomorrow, you will likely find it much easier to approach than my explanation suggests.
For users who have cleared the Chapter 5 scenario quests, you will be able to obtain Resonance Stones through guide quests, along with materials required to calibrate them as rewards.
Upon acquiring Resonance Stones that activate Ensemble effects, you can immediately use these effects in battles.
Additionally, please note that as of Chapter 5, you can currently acquire a total of 19 Resonance Stones.
See you next time.
Thank you.
