  • This Week's Major Patch Notes and... A Legend?

    2025.01.16

    201

Hello, this is Director Lee Jong-joo.

Flu season is in full swing, and this particular strain seems especially contagious and dangerous. Please take care of your health and immunity.
Now, let’s dive into today’s updates.

    Hall of Heroes Updates

We’ve decided to partially restore the skip function that was removed to enhance the gameplay of Hall of Heroes.
Although we removed the convenience to prevent it from becoming a skip-only feature, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this caused.

However, we can’t revert to the old system entirely. Instead, we plan to implement a system where the skip button becomes available after a certain amount of time has passed in battle.

Additionally, the penalty for losing was deemed excessive, so we’ve reduced it by half. Furthermore, bonus points for random matches will be doubled, allowing users with higher win rates to earn better scores.

With the season change, the rules will also be updated.

This season’s rule: Immunity to all status effects (including knockback).

We’ll continue to improve Hall of Heroes based on the data and trends from this season.

New Character Hint Reveal and Background
Keywords: Hunger, Blue Eyes, Two Letters, Blunt Weapon, Prodigy

The answer to last week’s Director’s Note hint was Rael!

    Hint Explanation:

Hunger: Origin from a famine-stricken region.
    Blue Eyes: Blue-colored eyes.
    Two Syllables: Literal hint.
Blunt Weapon: Axes are classified as blunt weapons in the game.
Prodigy: Recognized as a genius and prodigy.
Some of you may have confused the hints with Rael and Rouca, but there were hidden clues in the Director’s Note!

    Hidden Hint:

(Although we tried to compose Rouca's placement screen with as many blonde characters as possible, it seems this wasn’t much of a hint after all.)

Unlike with Una, many of you leaned toward Rael early on, especially after discovering the hidden clues. (It feels like I lost somehow, haha.)

Rael is one of my favorite heroes from The Legend of Heroes IV.

In the game, he could be recruited at a reasonable cost and used a unique teleportation spell, making him versatile for special assignments and other scenarios. I remember seeing the ending with Rael the most.

I’ve always wanted to turn him into a character, and now he’s finally here.

In the Legend of Heroes universe, Rael is regarded as a prodigy in magic. Unlike Marti, who focuses on theoretical approaches, Rael naturally wields magic with ease.

This iteration of Rael is 21 years old, having grown 8 years since his original appearance. His magical prowess now approaches that of a Archmage.

However, his mischievous nature keeps him from being fully respected just yet.

Rael’s main skill is Decarnation, the ultimate dark magic spell in The Legend of Heroes. His version surpasses the power of the Decarnation used by existing Grim Reapers (as expected of a Archmage).

He also enjoys axes but often casts Aqua Splash from a distance, finding it too bothersome to swing his axe. (If Rael were to wield a staff to amplify his magic, he would be even stronger.)

We’ve worked hard to highlight Rael’s personality and teleportation in his animations, so you can look forward to it!

    Legendary Heroes
Legendary characters in The Legend of Heroes universe are individuals who have achieved remarkable feats, possess overwhelming power, or have instilled fear in many.

The legendary heroes introduced at launch were figures renowned for their world-saving achievements.

In February, two new legendary heroes will be introduced.

One is a figure with exceptional achievements and overwhelming power.
The other is a character known solely for their overwhelming strength.
These legendary heroes will be unveiled in early and mid-February, respectively.

Recently, many players have been wondering about the use of existing Legendary Hero Select Tickets.

Unfortunately, these tickets cannot be used to obtain new legendary heroes. This is due to several issues, and we believe it’s better to clarify this in advance.

However, as Temporal Rift consistently allow players to acquire legendary heroes, new legendary hero select tickets will be added to the resource shop.

As previously mentioned in a Director’s Note, new legendary heroes will also be available for exchange using Legendary Soul Remnants in the resource shop.

    Next Week’s Highlights
We’re preparing events for the upcoming Lunar New Year.

The Lunar New Year event will feature Aida, the mascot of Cagesong of the Ocean, and progress through its story.

Chapter 8 (Final Chapter) of Cagesong of the Ocean and the Extreme II difficulty will finally be released next week.

Additionally, the final boss of Cagesong of the Ocean, Dogma, will appear in the Threat of Gagharv content.

Guild Raids and additional tiers above US rank will also be patched, so stay tuned!

    That’s all for today’s update.

We’re preparing a major update for next week, so please look forward to it.

    Thank you!
