Hello, Adventurers! This is Director Lee Jong-joo.
Have you enjoyed the half-anniversary festival? I was amazed to see adventurers who have already cleared the 200th floor of Gagharv Abyss and Extreme II!
Today, I'll be focusing on "Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch Chapter 1" and our new content, "Tower of Challenge."
Before I begin, I must apologize for postponing the regular maintenance by one day. We discovered a critical bug in the new content we were preparing, and decided to delay maintenance to ensure security and resolve the issue. We considered delaying the new content release until next week, but felt it would be best to provide you with new content this week. Thank you for your understanding.
Now, let's dive into today's Dev Note!
Rule Change of Hall of Heroes
The new season will begin next Monday. The season will feature a rule similar to the "We can do it, too" buff from Abyss of Mirror, which strengthens main characters and ★1-2 heroes (though it's not the exact same buff or rule). I hope this season gives you an opportunity to rediscover a variety of heroes.
Half-Anniversary Attendance Event II
Attendance Event II will follow Attendance Event I (with a final Event III coming later). You can claim a ★5 Origin Weapon Selection Ticket as the 7-day reward!
Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch Chapter 1
The story begins on Negar Island, Lodi's hometown, which has been devastated.
As a small aside, Negar Island reminds me of a heartbreaking memory - I once had to restart from scratch because I couldn't catch the Fall Eagle (Chris was only level 2, which wasn't enough to complete the quest). We initially designed air monsters in early development (and for the G-Star Demo Version), but removed them as they were too complicated for a mobile game.
Back to the story - there's a Shrine of the Earth that players must visit as part of their pilgrimage. You'll also encounter a new character in Tituta Village who hasn't appeared in the game before.
New Content: Tower of Challenge
This will be our most difficult content yet - the "Tower of Challenge" will truly test your abilities. Only adventurers who have cleared the 150th floor of Gagharv Abyss can attempt it. The tower features special rules and more powerful monsters. The higher you climb, the more crucial your strategies for formation, skill timing, and tool usage will become.
Basic Rules
The basic progression is similar to Gagharv Abyss - clear floor by floor. However, there are several unique elements that should provide an enjoyable battle experience.
The Tower of Challenge will run for a 3-week period, followed by a 1-week pause. Seasons will rotate between Episodes.
The first season will be "Tower of Challenge: Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch," where only heroes from that episode can participate. (The next season will be "Tower of Challenge: A Tear of Vermillion.") While monsters on each floor remain the same across episodes, the different hero restrictions will require new strategies.
Wave Battle
Unlike standard battles, monsters will appear in successive waves. This makes timing your skills and tools even more important.
Arcana Crystal
Your goal isn't just to defeat enemies - you must also protect the Arcana Crystal from them. Monsters will target the crystal, and if you fail to protect it, you cannot clear the floor. Strategies utilizing recovery or provoke skills will be essential.
Arcana Tool System
You'll acquire Arcana Essence when clearing Tower floors, which can be exchanged for Exclusive Tools in the Arcana Tool Store. These tools can only be used in the Tower of Challenge (and regular tools cannot be used here). Arcana Tools have more powerful effects than existing tools, helping you overcome challenges.
Conqueror System
The tower consists of 200 floors with a special "Conqueror" concept. The first adventurer to clear the 200th floor becomes the Conqueror. When this happens, the maximum floor count will expand in the next season.
The Conqueror will receive a Special Profile Icon and can grant a special buff to other adventurers. This buff will be named after the Conqueror's nickname and will help others clear the content. While becoming a Conqueror might seem unlikely, I've learned never to underestimate our adventurers' abilities!
Rewards
You can earn three types of rewards:
ㄴFloor Clear Rewards
Earned when clearing each floor. When the season resets, you can acquire these rewards again. They'll mainly include Gold and Adventure Points.
ㄴChallenger Score
You'll earn 1 point for each floor cleared. Reaching certain point thresholds unlocks rewards. Challenger Scores don't reset between seasons and will continue to accumulate. Scores are tracked separately for each episode.
ㄴSection Reward (Arcana's Spirit)
These can be claimed by clearing floors or from Challenger Score Rewards. Arcana's Spirit can be exchanged for Special Rewards in the Goods Store (with exchange limits). Rewards include Gagharv's Legend Hero Selection Ticket I/II and Knowledge-Swordswoman Sappie. The spirits will accumulate even when seasons change and can be used regardless of episode.
Summary of Tower of Challenge
Entry Requirement: Clear 150th floor of Gagharv Abyss
Progression: Clear each floor
Restriction: Only heroes from the current season episode can be used (First Season: Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch)
Battle Mechanics: Wave battles and protecting the Arcana Crystal
Arcana Tools: Special tools exclusively for Tower of Challenge
Arcana's Spirit: Special reward item exchangeable for various items in the Goods Store
Conqueror System: First player to complete floor 200 becomes the Conqueror, expanding the tower and granting a special buff for all adventurers in the next season
The Tower of Challenge introduces exciting new elements different from existing content. It's not just about defeating powerful enemies but also protecting special objects, requiring unique strategies. The hero limitations will maximize the fun of the challenge.
We're excited to see who will become the first Conqueror and how many floors will be added to the tower!
Thank you! See you in the next Dev Note!
