Hello, this is Director Lee Jong-joo.
I love watching cherry blossom trees in full bloom! I hope you enjoy the warm atmosphere, so we've brought a cherry blossom tree into the lobby.
Before I start today's dev note, I should mention it will be the longest note ever, so I'm a bit worried about readability. I'm also concerned that the explanation of the Synergy System might be complicated... but anyway, the Synergy System is finally updated!
Synergy is a crucial element in determining team composition and has high strategic utility; however, it also tends to be limited to only certain heroes or combinations. There are many restrictions on hero combinations when utilizing the highest Tier 7. We've been deliberating for a long time about how we can make Synergy more fun and diverse. What I'm about to share with you today is the result of that deliberation. In the process, we've also checked and improved synergies that were previously less valuable or harder to use. Now, let's dive into the Synergy Changes!
The Change of Current Synergy Effects
I want to explain about Mana Recovery. In the case of Mana Recovery 7, it was not working as intended. However, it often worked in adventurers' favor, so we left it without any modification before the Synergy Improvements. In these Synergy Improvements, we've modified the effect of Mana Recovery 7 to adjust to the original intention. We've made the modified effect have similar performance to the old one while being easier to operate.
The old Mana Recovery 7 had a 20% chance to trigger when using the main skill. When triggered, it would randomly restore 100% of the mana of other heroes. This led to adventurers focusing on playing with the heroes who were most effective. If they got lucky, the rest of the heroes in the team could benefit from the extra boost, and team operations would proceed accordingly.
The revised feature changes the existing "shared cooldown system for all heroes" to a system where each hero has their individual cooldown. With this change, instead of limiting gameplay by using mana recovery effects on specific heroes while restricting other heroes' mana skills, all heroes can now independently utilize their own mana recovery effects. This modification allows for more efficient responses in various content. Additionally, the individual probability has been increased to 40%, enabling players to more reliably anticipate mana recovery during gameplay. We expect these changes will allow players to utilize synergy effects more strategically and efficiently than before.
New System "Artifact"
One of the most mysterious ruins in the El Phildin continent, the "Ruin of Horizon" is a peculiar place where even the flow of time and space is unstable. Professor Elenoa, who was commissioned to investigate this ruin, begins her exploration with her apprentice Rael. In this legendary place where time is distorted and entrance and exit locations swap positions, the two discover a mysterious Artifact.
Amazed by the Artifact's intricate structure, Elenoa and Rael head to the Gear Factory to meet Rouca, an expert in machinery, to identify its nature. Coincidentally, Thomas and Michel are also at the factory inspecting The Planetos 2. While examining the Artifact brought by Rael, Rouca notices that it has a very unusual structure unlike any existing engine and doesn't even have a power system. Meanwhile, Michel, who had been intently studying the Artifact, asks about the ruin's location with a meaningful look before suddenly disappearing using teleportation magic.
Rouca carefully disassembles the Artifact and discovers a gear engraved with divine script inside. Elenoa and Rael decipher the divine script and learn that the Artifact is a device that "resonates" with its user to amplify magical power. However, even when infused with magic, the Artifact didn't function properly. Although it was mechanically activated, there was nothing at the destination where the magical power should reach. At that moment, Michel reappears through teleportation magic and hands over a missing component. Once this part is installed, the Artifact finally begins to operate in its complete form, emitting strange waves that resonate with the user.
Now you can explore the Ruin of Horizon to obtain components to restore the Artifact discovered by Elenoa and Rael, as well as resonance springs to further amplify the Artifact's effects, allowing you to build a more powerful team.
Artifact Restoration
The artifact discovered by Elenoa and Rael in the Ruin of Horizon contains 8 mysterious powers:
To fully restore the artifact, you'll need Restoration Materials that can be obtained from the Ruin of Horizon and the Horizon Rift.
When successfully using restoration materials, the restoration level of that ability increases by 1. Each ability can be restored up to a maximum of 8 levels.
Echoing Clockwork Amplification
After acquiring an Echoing Clockwork, you must amplify it before use. There are a total of 28 different Clockworks, each combining two types of synergies. For example:
Attack Power / Mana Recovery
Attack Power / Critical Hit Rate
Attack Power / Attack Speed
Attack Power / HP
These Clockworks are hidden throughout the Ruin of Horizon and can be acquired through exploration. The effects vary according to the amplification level, as follows:
-Level Effects Summary
-Level 1 Effects
-Level 2 & 3 Effects
Clockwork Synergy +1
-Effects Based on Number of Clockwork Amplifications
-Clockwork Amplification System Rules
-Flash of Creation
Echoing Clockworks exist as items according to their grade, with a total of 3 grades. Higher grade Clockworks allow more amplification attempts.
The final effect of the artifact is determined by combining the values from the artifact restoration level and the Clockwork amplification level.
When both artifact restoration and Clockwork amplification reach level 3, the synergy bonus ultimately increases up to +4 (2+2), enabling your team to perform more cohesively and efficiently. However, since it's difficult to quickly raise the artifact restoration level and high-level Clockwork amplification takes time, a gradual growth process is necessary in the early stages.
Example
Blue points represent Artifact Restoration Points, and green points represent Clockwork Amplification Points.
1. Attack Speed ability has a total of 10 points (Artifact +2, Clockwork +8), so the Level 2 effect "Attack Speed +5 and Attack Speed Synergy +1" is activated.
2. Mana Recovery ability has a total of 5 points (Artifact +2, Clockwork +3), so the Level 1 effect "Mana Recovery +20%" is activated.
3. Since the total Amplification Points of the equipped Clockwork is 11, the bonus effect "Attack Power +305" is also activated.
As a result, when this Clockwork is combined with the artifact and equipped to your team, all the activated effects described in points 1-3 apply to the entire team.
Equipping the Artifact
Looking closely at the artifact, there is a space in the center where the Echoing Clockwork can be inserted. While the artifact itself has various potential abilities, these abilities are only activated when a Clockwork is equipped. Choosing the appropriate Clockwork according to your situation and strategy is very important.
For Example, If a player wants to maximize Attack Power and Mana Recovery during battle, they would equip the "Attack Power/Mana Recovery" Clockwork to the artifact.
The artifact's potential for attack power and mana recovery resonates with the Clockwork, fully manifesting these abilities and providing powerful effects to the entire team.
Conversely, if you want to increase Defense and HP, equip the "Defense/HP" Clockwork. In this case, the artifact's defense and HP attributes resonate with the Clockwork and transfer those attributes to the entire team.
New Content: Ruin of Horizon & Horizon Rift
Ruin of Horizon
The Ruin of Horizon transforms into a new space every 2 weeks. This week's updated space allows only heroes from The Moonlight Witch episode to participate in battles. After 2 weeks, it will change to A Tear of Vermillion, and then 2 weeks later to A Cagesong of The Ocean, cycling periodically. There are a total of 30 stages prepared. Similar to Depths of Gagav, you can clear a stage by winning battles within a set time limit. Bread is consumed when entering a stage, and stages that have been cleared once cannot be cleared again.
Horizon Rift
When you clear the Ruin of Horizon, your Horizon Rift level increases. Higher-level Horizon Rifts provide better materials. The Horizon Rift consists of 6 levels (Level 1-6) and can be played repeatedly. The number of stage clears per day for each level is limited to a total of 5 times. Clear counts are reset daily for each level.
Blessing of the Horizon
When clearing the Horizon Rift, you can obtain resources to upgrade the Blessing of the Horizon. These blessings provide very useful effects when tackling the Ruin of Horizon. We've adjusted the balance so that even users with lower growth stats can clear more stages by activating various blessings and leveling them up. Users with high growth stats can smoothly break through the Ruin of Horizon with fewer Horizon Rift clears, but those with lower growth stats can progress further in the Ruin of Horizon by consistently clearing the Horizon Rift and increasing their blessing levels. Since reaching higher stages in the Ruin of Horizon allows you to acquire more and better materials, we recommend strategically selecting and growing blessings according to your party composition and situation.
Summary
The new Artifact System allows you to utilize the special artifact discovered by Elenoa and Rael in the Ruin of Horizon for your team. This artifact has 8 potential abilities to help your team grow, and these abilities are activated through artifact restoration and Echoing Clockwork amplification. To activate the artifact's abilities, you must equip an Echoing Clockwork to the artifact. To maximize the desired effect, you need to select and amplify the appropriate Echoing Clockwork according to the situation. Echoing Clockwork Amplification proceeds with a certain success rate, providing more powerful effects as the level increases. The materials needed to restore the artifact and amplify the Echoing Clockwork can be obtained through consistent exploration and farming in the 'Ruin of Horizon' and 'Horizon Rift'. Although the system may seem complex at first, we believe you'll understand and become familiar with it more easily once you experience it directly in-game. We hope you enjoy finding the best artifact combination for your team.
As of the current time, Conquerors exist on Tower of Challenge servers 2, 3, and 14, and challengers on servers 1, 4, 5, and 6 have reached floor 199. Although we originally expected that there would be no Conquerors... now that this has happened, we hope to see more Conquerors on the remaining servers as well! Oh, and please note that Arcana Crystals and already purchased Arcana Tools will carry over to the next season (A Tear of Vermillion).
Thank you always for your continued support.
