Hello, this is Director Lee Jong-joo.
First, I apologize for not posting this update sooner as I took the time to carefully examine the details regarding the balance issues.
I am aware that there has been a growing concern among players regarding the performance gap between the Legend of Gagharv’s hero, Savior Avin, and the pickup hero, Michel. Ultimately, this has led to worries about the inherent value of heroes.
Here’s what I’ve identified:
1. Players obtain pickup heroes through in-game purchases, but even at their highest growth stage, there’s little performance difference compared to heroes at lower growth stages.
2. The concern isn’t just about Savior Avin and Michel, but that other heroes with high growth potential may face similar issues in the future.
The design of the Legend of Gagharv’s heroes is such that their main acquisition method isn’t through summoning, but rather through long-term content play, with the goal of slowly collecting and fully developing them.
Therefore, when fully developed, the Legend of Gagharv’s heroes are intended to perform better than others in the same role.
However, because the primary method of obtaining these heroes is through content, we anticipated that it would take a long time to reach their full potential.
But upon reviewing the situation, we’ve found that Savior Avin’s performance can sometimes exceed that of other heroes in terms of 'damage' even without full growth.
Savior Avin’s skill enhancement scaling is higher compared to other heroes, and through synergy with the hero Shannon and their equipment, it may have seemed like, despite being a Legend of Gagharv hero, he’s unusually strong.
Before the release, we made balance adjustments to ensure the value of heroes like Transcendent Mile and Pure White Gueld remained intact, but it’s true that we didn’t thoroughly check this particular issue. I sincerely apologize for this oversight.
However, as I mentioned before, our policy is to avoid direct nerfs to heroes as much as possible during live service.
So, we plan to address this situation in the following way:
Enhancing the Value of Hero Growth
The difficulty of collecting and growing heroes varies depending on their original grade, and their value is assessed accordingly. The harder the hero is to collect, the more challenging it is to develop them, but there should be a noticeable value difference when all heroes reach the same level of growth.
To reflect this, we will increase the merits of the highest growth level, Transcendence Growth. We will adjust the merits for 1-3 star heroes, including main characters, at each Transcendence stage to better reflect their growth value.
These adjustments will be thoroughly reviewed and prepared for a patch in September.
We deeply apologize for causing concern regarding the balance. Both the development team and I are continuously striving to meet the expectations of our players and to provide stable, long-term service.
We know that there are still areas where we fall short of your expectations, but we will continue to improve and address these shortcomings.
Thank you.
