  • This week's Update and Hero Balance Adjustment

    2025.06.12

    208

Hello, this is Director Lee Jong-joo.

I have brought news about this week's improvements, as well as the second round of hero balance adjustment.

This time, our focus is on Borgeid, a magical dealer. Let's dive into today's Director Note.

    Borgeid Balance Adjustment

Borgeid was originally designed as a magical dealer who excels at attacking concentrated enemies.

However, his passive skill [The Spirit of the Hades] had a long activation time ─ about 1 minute 15 seconds at Transcendence Stage 1 ─ and in practice, enemies rarely stayed concentrated for long. As a result, Borgeid's overall effectiveness was lower than that of many other heroes. Additionally, his Transcendence Stage 1 effect increased the skill's maximum stack count, but paradoxically caused the activation time to become even logner.

To address these issues and make Borgeid more versatile across various types of content, we've made the following adjustments:

First, the activation speed of [The Spirit of the Hades] has been increased, and instead of increasing stack count, the skill's attack power boost has been strengthened. And the main skill's mana cost has been reduced, and its damage multiplier has been increased, allowing for more frequent and reliable skill use. Also, a new effect ─ Damage to enemies with Burn status increases by 2% ─ has been added to Borgeid's Origin Weapon. Finally, the Transcendence Stage 2 effect has been changed from [DEF] Synergy to [ATK SPD] Synergy, giving Borgeid more flexiblity when combined with other heroes.

We hope these changes will allow more adventurers to enjoy using Borgeid as a reliable damage dealer in their teams.

    Interface Improvement

The Store UI improvements have focused on enhancing usability and making product selection more convenient.

We've reorganized product information and categories for better readability, and rearranged button placements to help adventurers quickly find the items they want. Additionally, product comparison and efficiency information are now provided to help with purchasing decisions.

We've also begun improving the Hero Info UI. This update includes preliminary work on the underlying UI structure, and full improvements will be applied in stages. Planned improvements include:

    - Viewing Hero Growth status directly from the Hero list

    - Improving information readability with a Skill tab

    - Enhancing overall UI consistency

    Adventurer Skill Preset Improvements

As the game has evolved, team formations have become more varied and sophisticated depending on the content. To better support this diversity, we are expanding the current Adventurer Skill Preset system. While the existing 3 presets remain, we have put additional presets specifically for key content:

4th Preset: Hall of Heroes - Offense Formation

5th Preset: Hall of Heroes - Defense Formation

    6th Preset: Threat of Gagharv

7th Preset: Guild Raid - Starting Formation

8th Preset: Guild Raid - Latecomer Formation

The dedicated presets will help reduce the inconvenience of manually changing skills for each type of content.

Of course, saving separate presets for each boss would be ideal. However, to balance future content expansion and server stability, we've chosen to implement content-based presets first. Even so, this improvement should significantly streamline the process of managing your Adventure Skills.

Skill Effect Adjustment: Shannon and Aria of the Dawn

The Mana Recovery effects in the main skills of Shannon and Aria of the Dawn will no longer apply to Summonees.

Originally, the game encouraged experimentation with various team formations, while limiting certain synergies ─ such as between Shannon and Aida ─ to maintain balance.

However, the game environment has evolved: team size has expanded from 5 to 6 members, and heroes that actively utilize Summonees have been added. We now believe that the previous restriction no longer benefits the player experience. As a result, we have lifted this limitation, giving adventurers greater flexibility in team formation.

It is important to note that this adjustment does not involve changes to the overall AI Logic. It applies only to the main skills of Shannon and Aria of the Dawn.

Applying such changes globally would introduce unintended consequences ─ for example, Shirla's charm targets the enemy with the highest ATK, and changing this behaviour could disrupt battle flow. Because of these risks, we have chosen to address only clear cases of unreasonable interactions on an individual basis.

    Hero Rerun and Upcoming Hero

This week, instead of adding new hero, we are rerunning Guide Rutice and Magisa as part of Daily Pickup Event.

Until now, new heroes have been introduced every 2 weeks since launch. However we feel that this pace may cause fatigue for many adventurers. Moving forward, we will shift to a 3-week cycle for new hero releases, while continuing to monitor and adjust as needed.

Here are the clues for the next new hero:

Clues: A loud splash, Scotia, Monster of Power, A hearty eater

    That concludes this week's update.

The next hero balance adjustment will focus on Aida!

Although she performed well during early days after release, her current viability has decreased over time. Additionally, both her performance and Origin Weapon currently depend heavily on higher Transcendence stages. We aim to reduce this growth dependency and make Aida more accessible to a wider range of adventurers.

We look forward to sharing more details in the next Director's Note.

    See you next time!

    Best Regards,

    Director Lee Jong-joo.
