Hello, this is Director Lee Jong-joo.
First of all, I sincerely apologize for the disappointment caused by the previous Director’s Note. As it coincided with the launch of our Taiwan service, we understand that many of you may have felt the domestic service was being pushed aside. We are fully aware of these concerns and, in turn, of the deep care and attention you continue to show toward this game.
I’ve come to question whether keeping to a fixed weekly schedule for these Notes is still meaningful. With growing development complexity and personal health concerns, it has become increasingly difficult to allocate resources as flexibly as before. Creating any one feature or content now requires more effort and careful coordination than ever.
Regarding the Taiwan launch, I chose not to address it directly in the Director’s Note out of concern that highlighting it might unintentionally alienate our domestic players. However, I realize now that this may have caused more confusion, and I sincerely apologize.
Writing a Director’s Note is not a light task. It’s not a casual message between friends, but a public statement to a wide and diverse player base. Each line is written with a sense of responsibility and direction. The process often overlaps with internal work and decision-making, and I frequently question whether the time spent writing could be better used elsewhere.
That said, this is not to say that communication is unimportant. Rather, we believe it’s more valuable to focus the Notes on delivering sincere, meaningful updates and context, rather than rephrasing information that will soon appear in patch notes.
Starting today, we will no longer publish Notes out of routine. Instead, we will reach out when we truly have something worth sharing—something that can meet your expectations and provide real insight into our direction.
Scenario Renewal: A Cage Song of the Ocean
In the time leading up to the next major story update, we focused on a full renewal of the scenario chapters from the prologue to Chapter 3 of "A Cage Song of the Ocean." Our aim was to enhance emotional storytelling and immersion by improving character
direction, cutscenes, and presentation.
Key improvements include:
* Scenario scenes: increased from approximately 150 to over 200
* Cutscenes: increased from approximately 70 to over 100 (including 30+ new scenes and 50+ with added voice acting or visual enhancements)
* Total text volume: increased from approximately 3,500 lines to over 5,000 lines
We also added seven new gimmick maps to improve how the game expresses the resonance stone acquisition process, which was originally underrepresented:
* Cranka Underground Channel
* Glysis Cave
* Aquaharp Cave
* Quarry
* The End of Lake
* Wind Tunnel
We also refined key episodes featuring Ryutom Island and Aida. Scenes that needed reinforcement were thoroughly revised, while those with solid foundations were enhanced for consistency.
Please note that this renewed content will not be replayable for those who have already cleared the chapters. We considered implementing reset features, but due to risk of errors based on player progress data, we decided not to pursue that option. For now, the best way to revisit this updated content is through the Cutscene Replay feature.
The White Witch Chapter 3 – Coming in July
Chapter 3 of "Prophecy of Moonlight Witch" will be released in July. The party, having thwarted Garuga’s plans in Bolt, will next visit Shrine and participate in a cooking contest at Amdera Castle. This will be a lighthearted, healing-focused chapter that offers a change of pace in the main story.
Future Story Direction
Some players have asked if the story will end once "Prophecy of Moonlight Witch" concludes. The answer is no.
As both a director and a long-time fan of the series, I want the Gagharv world to expand further in scope and depth. That’s why we are carefully planning what comes next— ensuring it is built on clear narrative direction and supported by sufficient development and visual resources.
For example, Isabelle’s gallery was developed with more than twice the content and production effort compared to earlier installments. Many of you noted the difference, and it’s that quality standard we plan to uphold in future expansions.
Gear Awakening System – July Update Preview
Tier 25 equipment has long been the highest tier available. With the new Gear Awakening System, you will be able to upgrade your existing Tier 25 gear without losing your sub-options.
Key features:
* Current sub-stats are preserved during awakening
* Specific awakening materials are required
* Some materials will drop from "Extreme III" content in A Tear of Vermillion, A Cagesong of the Ocean, and Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch
* The materials will also be obtainable through other content to avoid excessive farming pressure
* Additional Tier 25 gear may be needed for certain awakenings, so we recommend keeping extra gear in storage
This new system will be more intuitive and easier to understand than the existing artifact system, reducing complexity while maintaining strategic value.
Upcoming Content

Clues : Artemis, Disguise, The Only Woman, Motion Sickness, “Our sins laid in the earth”
1st Anniversary Preparation
We’re planning a major celebration with a Music Festival theme.
Key scenes will feature in-game performances and visual storytelling
designed to evoke real emotion. We hope you’ll enjoy this as a true festival experience.
World Boss
Development of the World Boss content has resumed and is targeting a release for the 1st anniversary.
This time, the boss will not be a monster-type but a human-type enemy, offering new strategic dimensions. We are also designing the system to account for varying conditions across servers— such as player population and scoring distribution—so that all players can enjoy the content in their own way. Whether you focus on optimal team setups or personal challenge, we want the World Boss to offer enjoyable, meaningful engagement for all types of players.
Coupon Schedule
Going forward, coupons will be posted regularly through the Coupon Board, regardless of whether a Director’s Note is released that week. You will no longer need to wait for a Note to receive coupon rewards.
The Director’s Note will no longer be a routine formality, but a sincere update when there’s something worth sharing. We want these messages to offer meaningful insights into our direction, progress, and values. We know we won’t always get everything right. But we’ve never once stopped striving to meet your expectations. Whether we move quickly or slowly, every step we take is aimed at building a better game—together with you.
Thank you for reading to the end. We’ll be back again soon with more news.
Sincerely,
Lee Jong-joo
